Bring on the Turkey...and the wine!

Happy week of Thanksgiving!!  Is it just me, or does Christmas season start earlier and earlier every year??  I can honestly say that I have heard Christmas music playing in stores since November 1st.  What happened to Thanksgiving?!  Don't get me wrong, I'm a Christmas nut...I love everything about it and cannot wait to get my tree's up, wreath on the front door, lights on the house (my boyfriend is doing that as I type =), decorate my mantle, bust out the cinnamon spice candles, christmas shop and blast the Christmas music.  But, I don't want to bypass that important "eat and be thankful" holiday.  I couldn't be more thankful for everything and everyone in my life and I'm excited to spend this week with all of my family and friends.  So, bring on the turkey, pumpkin pie and 100 side dishes (I'll definitely be wearing leggings on Thursday) and the wine!  I'm in charge of bringing wine to my family Thanksgiving, so here's s little preview of what I'll be bringing:

Segura Viudas Brut Reserva

Gotta start Thanksgiving off right with a little bubbly!

Cupcake Sauvignon Blanc

Every girl's favorite....and especially mine.  I feel like it's my life in a bottle - cupcakes and wine!

Blufled Medium-Sweet Riesling

This is a new little gem.  Rieslings are either sweet or dry, but Blufeld fills a void of a medium sweet riesling.  It's so light, crisp and yummy.

Cambria Pinot Noir

Mmmmm....love me some Pinot Noir (however, I think Malbec is slowly taking it's place as my favorite wine).  Cambria makes great Pinot Noir....their 2006 vintage was #1 in the Top 100 wines of 2009.

Colores Del Sol Malbec

Malbec is the super trendy wine of right now.  Anything from South America is becoming very popular.  If you like red wine, you'll love a malbec.  It's spicy, easy to drink and very yummy.  If you are ever at Addison's in Columbia, definitely get a glass of the Colores Del Sol.

Primus Red Blend

If blended well, red blends are so awesome.  This one is nothing short of amazing.  It's a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Carmenere.  This wine is one of Chile's top red meritage blend wines.  I now have this on the wine list at Baxter's at the Lake of the Ozarks.  I highly recommend it!!

Simi Chardonnay

I love all of Simi's wines.  This is one of the wineries we visited while in Napa a few months ago.  We sat on a patio that looked right into the house that is featured on the label.  I'm not a big Chardonnay drinker because they can sometimes be over oaked and super buttery.  Not Simi's....it has the perfect balance of oak and fruit.  And, as a side not, the winemaker is a Mizzou graduate!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!
