Blogger of the Week: Suck My Savvy

Today's Blogger of the Week, is a man who's not afraid to take risks and stretch his imagination. With his skinny jeans, vibrant colors and bold prints- Graham, of Suck My Savvy, has style in spades.

Suck My Savvy
What’s your Age and Location?
I'm perched in San Diego, where sandals reign supreme. The locals are generally not fashion conscious, which makes it more exciting to meet bloggers elsewhere. My age? Really? Let's just say I'm still part of the 20's set.

What inspired you to start blogging?
Honestly, when I turned single I realized my ex had been styling me. I was stumped about how to outfit myself and went seeking funky-yet-sensible male blogs. Let me tell you: there aren't many! So I started SuckMySavvy.com to share my learning process with other guys. It evolved in an unexpected way, though, since the blog audience is predominantly female. I'm learning how ladies view men's fashion by reading their comments.

What’s one tip you’d like to share with other bloggers?
The best blogs create unique content—images only they can provide. Everyone can re:post photos, so keep a balanced approach.

What’s your favorite song of the moment?
'Nights Over Egypt' by Zo!
The lyrics describe a courtship between an Egyptian Queen and King as they meet along the Nile. I may be a realist, but I'm also a hopeless romantic.

What are you most looking forward to wearing this winter?
The fleeting Southern California winter allows me to indulge in big boots, knit scarves and leather. It's easier to dress 'rock n roll' when the sun's not beating down at 100 degrees!

Thanks so much Graham for being my thirteenth Blogger of the Week!

Blogger of the Week: Petticoats and High Heels

Liset, of Petticoats and High Heels, is a very lovely and lucky girl. Everyday she gets to ride her bicycle around a city that I would die to live in- Amsterdam! Liset is also a very talented photographer with a knack for cool photo effects (see proof below).

Petticoats and High Heels
What’s your Age and Location?
I'm 21 years old and I've been living in Amsterdam since the day I was born. I love the city, there is always something to do and I like that everything is in biking distance. In my opinion, it is a very small city but people from outside Amsterdam mostly think it is huge.

What inspired you to start blogging?
I'm a total geek. I had my first website when I was 14 and many more came after that one. I'm fascinated with the internet and I love to have a little spot in it. What I love about blogging is to share my passions with other people. You meet so many people all around the world that share the same interests. My friends don't always understands the concept of blogging and that I could spend hours and hours browsing through them. I find other blogs so inspiring, I love to see what other people do, photograph and wear. I also like the fact that blogging is taken over the fashion world. It is amazing that a fourteen year old girl sat front row at the Marc Jacobs show.

What’s one tip you’d like to share with other bloggers?
It is very important that you like to blog. It takes a lot of time and you don't want to see it as an obligation. In the beginning you won't get that many visitors but if you keep posting with the same enthusiasm as in the beginning, the visitors will come. And blog about things you love. If you love something, you can write easily about it. However, don't write too much, people tend to only watch your photographs and don't read your text, especially on the internet.

What’s your favorite song of the moment?
I'm currently listening to a lot of The xx's, Coeur de Pirate and Bat for Lashes. I love peaceful(? calm?) music when I'm at home. When I go out I like electro music like Royksopp, Sneaky Sound System and Justice. I don't really have a favorite song of the moment...

What are you most looking forward to wearing this winter?
The winter is my favorite fashion season so I'm looking forward to it! I love to layer a lot and I'm addicted to woolen scarves and hats. I also love a good pair of boots. I still want one pair and if I can get those which I have in mind, they would probably go on the favorite items list!

Blogger of the Week: Mamushka Marie

Claire Marie, of Mamushka Marie, is a fairly new blogging friend. I can't quite remember who found who first, but I can remember how drawn I was to Claire Marie's style. I totally envy how cool she looks in vintage specs, her amazing dark hair and her awesome wardrobe.

What’s your Age and Location?
I'm 26 years old and am currently a California transplant in Dallas Texas, however in two short weeks my guy and I will be heading north to Madison Wisconsin. We're both pretty nomadic to say the least!

What inspired you to start blogging?
All those beautiful artistic creative bloggers out there, for sure. I would sit up in my apartment and just wish I could will myself to do something like I saw on the screen in front of me. So I started Mamushka Marie. Initially I felt really lost and didn't have a clue where to begin! I posted a few things, got bored and felt like giving up completely. Then I found wardrobe remix on flickr and began posting outfits, which was totally nerve wracking for me at first, but after a while I began to let loose, made some great connections and friendships and it naturally progressed into my giving it another go with the whole blogging thing. Other bloggers are also what inspire me to keep blogging.

What's one tip you’d like to share with other bloggers?
Write (post) what you know...in other words, be yourself. It sounds totally cliche and cheesy but it's true! I think blogging is an art form, sure not everyone will be into the same stuff, but like good art, good blogging has meaning and comes from the heart...

What’s your favorite song of the moment?
I've been listening to a lot of Nick Drake recently, I grew up listening to him actually- my dad is a huge fan...his music is so haunting and beautiful to me, my favorite song is "Time has told me."

Blogger of the Week: Dreaming Spires and Old Car Tyres

MJ, of Dreaming Spires and Old Car Tyres, has a blog that makes me absolutely roar with laughter. Her wit and sense of humor never cease to delight me. Couple that talent with her totally amazing DIY projects and you have one heck of a fantastic blogger.

Dreaming Spires and Old Car Tyres
What’s your Age and Location?

I'm 19, and although I hail from Hull in Northeast England, I'm at university in Oxford.

What inspired you to start blogging?

The reason I started blogging was actually part of my break-up! I'd been looking at fashion blogs for a long time beforehand and my then-boyfriend was always going on about how stupid and frivolous fashion was, so when we finally broke up I said 'you know what? I can do that if I want!' and I've never looked back. I've met such great and interesting people and my style has changed so much - anything but stupid.

What’s one tip you’d like to share with other bloggers?

My tip would be - don't give up! I see so many new bloggers getting frustrated because they're hardly getting any hits, and then they give up and all that potential is lost. Everyone starts from nothing! So in the beginning, post often, make sure you're polite and comment back, and put thought and care into your posts, and you'll be growing in no time.

What’s your favorite song of the moment?

I'm a prog rock girl, so my favourite song of the moment would have to be something by Deep Purple, probably Pictures of Home from the Machine Head album. It's a very dramatic song and brilliant for a bit of air guitar when I think nobody's looking.

What are you most looking forward to wearing this winter?

Lots and lots of scarves! I love a good scarf, and I must have millions sitting abandoned in drawers. So it's my mission this winter to liberate them all, and start styling them with more interesting outfits.

Thanks so much MJ for being my tenth Blogger of the Week!
