A Grave Matter, Indeed

A Grave Matter, IndeedA Grave Matter, IndeedA Grave Matter, IndeedA Grave Matter, Indeed
This old graveyard is situated right smack dab in the middle of a private golf course and can only be accessed by trespassing onto said course. I would really love to know what kind of city planning allowed something like this to happen? I find it such a shame that people can't access the graveyard and that something as unnecessary as a golf course has overcome a piece a land that should be preserved and revered. After living in Massachusetts, where a bit of history is waiting for you around every corner, I find it disgraceful that my home state of Michigan doesn't preserve what little it has.

Ok, I'm now stepping off my soapbox. I didn't have an outfit planned for this shoot but really wanted to show off my newly thrifted vintage coat! I found it at my favorite Salvation Army and couldn't believe my luck at finding such a gem. The price tag said $20, but when I arrived at the register it was magically half off! Such a steal. Leopard on the Grave

Knowing that the Rodarte for Target line was partially inspired by Bonnie and Clyde, I couldn't resist a very Bonnie-esque look.

It was another bitterly cold day and I'm sorry to say that I was again grumpy. I think I'm just fed up to my back teeth with this horribly cold weather. I want warmth, I want sun and I want to wear sandals! Sigh. I better shape up or Cole's going to ship me out. ;)

Thank you so much for all the incredibly kind comments on yesterday's post. I'm so glad you liked the different hairstyle and the beautiful Dear Beatrice necklace.

How was your weekend? Mine was lovely, but went by way too fast.

Well, this was supposed to be Wednesday's post, but today's post wasn't ready in time. So like last week, you get two photo shoot posts in a row! Cole and I found this little graveyard, that sadly resides next to a golf course, during a random walk. For Midwestern standards, it has some fairly old tombstones, but nothing that compares to the New England ones we used to live near, those dated back to the 1660's!

I was ever so lucky to snap up the last size medium in this dress on ModCloth's site! While it's not my normal style, there was something incredibly appealing about the cut and drape of this dress, which was named after the lovely Rebecca, of The Clothes Horse. In Rebecca's honor, I decided to wear the dress two different ways. I thought for sure I would prefer the belt and boots look best, but oddly enough, I think I prefer the un-belted style!

P.S. It was so terribly cold during this shoot, that it actually started snowing!

P.P.S The title is in honor of a book I love by Charlaine Harris.

Hello, Remember Me

Oh, how I've missed blogging! Moving cross country is horrible! My life is turned upside down at the moment! Boxes everywhere, no internet and clothes all over the place! But we're now in Michigan and I can't wait to really start decorating my new place.

I am so very sorry for my absence. It feels like I've been gone for a month instead of just five days! I hope to be officially back to blogging everyday by Monday, when hopefully everything will be sorted out.

In the meantime, here's the final photo shoot that Cole and I did in Marblehead...single tear.
